For the thirty-first time Made in Bulgaria - Union of Small and Medium Enterprises Association presented the annual Golden Martenitsa Awards on Thursday. The ceremony was held in the ballroom of the InterContinental Sofia Hotel.
The Golden Martenitsa Awards have been instituted by the Made in Bulgaria - Union of Small and Medium Enterprises Association in an effort to facilitate the recovery of Bulgarian products and services and increase their competitiveness at home and abroad.
This year awards were presented in six categories.
President Rumen Radev honored EnduroSat with the Golden Martenitsa for high technology innovative company. He said it is a company he knows and whose representatives he takes everywhere on his business trips abroad. "The company where I send visiting ministers, ambassadors, presidents, prime ministers. I have spoken to the President of the European Space Agency and Pentagon officials and they tell me they are really impressed," the head of State said.
For a Bulgarian company with a unique production that has established itself on the international market, the award went to Hemus. It was presented by Vice President Iliana Iotova.
Petar Kanev, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy and Innovation, presented the award for a successful company offering products of consistently high quality. It was presented to Nenko Trifonov Foods.
The award for a successful small start-up went to Gram Za Kilogram. It was presented by the Minister of Economy and Industry Petar Dilov who highlighted that in Bulgaria small and medium-sized enterprises contribute to 75% of employment.
Maria Tsvetkova, owner of the hotel Momchilovtsi Secrets, was awarded the prize for female entrepreneurship. The award was presented by First Investment Bank CEO Nikola Bakalov.
Seewines Spirit was awarded Golden Martenitsa in the category of traditional and favorite Bulgarian product. The award was presented by Made in Bulgaria - Union of Small and Medium Enterprises Association Chair Kancho Stoychev.
