Lyuben Dilov Elected as Spokesman of Bulgarian Democratic Centre

Sofia, December 21 (BTA) - Bulgarian script writer and
politician Lyuben Dilov was elected as Spokesman for the
Bulgarian Democratic Centre (BDC) at a meeting of the leadership
of the parliamentary group, the BDC press centre said on
Sunday.

The BDC coalition is governed by a Coalition Council and takes
general decisions collectively and with the equal participation
of all members, reads the message. The decisions will be
publicized via the Spokesman and the leadership of the
parliamentary group.

The coalition says that it expects from its hitherto leader
Nikolai Barekov to comply with the rules, which he has himself
prescribed, and to keep on being a worthy representative to the
European Parliament.

They were referring to Barekov's statement, made on Saturday,
that he was withdrawing his unconditional support for the
parliamentary group of the Bulgarian Democratic Centre (BDC) due
to the fact that they voted in favour of amendments to the
Social Insurance Code entered by GERB.

A general forum of the parties, constituting the coalition, will
be called in February 2015. The participants in the forum are
expected to confirm the priorities of the election campaign and
outline rules and criteria for extension of the coalition for
the upcoming local elections next year.

BDC says they are an opposition of the incumbents and have
repeatedly confirmed this during voting in Parliament. The
coalition confirms its readiness to support the necessary
reforms although "their number in the 2015 budget is
considerably lower compared to the election promises".

BDC finds the reforms, planned by the incumbents in the areas of
the judiciary, the Interior Ministry system and the pension
policy as a "step, albeit shy, in the right direction" "We are
following carefully the debate in these sectors and we will
reconsider our support for the separate steps in case of
hesitation," reads the message.
