Bulgaria's Total Export Down by 1.6% In January-November 2014 Y/Y


Sofia, January 12 (BTA) - From January to November 2014,
Bulgaria exported goods worth 39.8 billion leva, which is a
decrease by 1.6 per cent compared to the like period of 2013,
show preliminary data released by the National Statistical
Institute on Monday.

In November 2014, the total export amounted to 3.8 billion leva,
down by 3.1 per cent from November 2013, and the total import
dropped by 3.1 per cent to 4.4 billion leva.

In January-November 2014, Bulgaria imported goods amounting to
46.7 billion leva (at CIF prices), which is an increase by 0.4
per cent compared to the like period of 2013.

In January-November 2014, the foreign trade balance (export FOB
- import CIF) was negative and amounted to 6,913 million leva,
by 827.8 million leva more compared to the balance in the first
eleven months of 2013. At FOB/FOB prices (after elimination of
transport and insurance costs on imports) the negative balance
added up to 4,874.6 million leva.

In November 2014, the foreign trade balance (export FOB - import
CIF) was negative and amounted to 538.9 million leva. At
FOB/FOB prices the negative balance added up to 326.3 million
leva.

In January-October 2014, Bulgaria's export to the EU increased
by 2.4 per cent year-on-year and amounted to 22.4 billion leva.
In October, the export amounted to 2.5 billion leva, up by 4.9
per cent from the same month of 2013.

In the first ten months of 2014, the import from EU countries
increased by 3.2 per cent year-on-year to 25.8 billion leva (at
CIF prices). Bulgaria's main trade partners were Germany, Italy,
Romania, Greece and Spain. In October, the import increased by
6.6 per cent compared the same month of 2013 and reached 2.9
billion leva (at CIF prices).

In January-October 2014, the foreign trade balance (export FOB -
import CIF) with the EU was negative and amounted to 3,382
million leva. At FOB-FOB prices (after elimination of transport
and insurance costs on imports) the negative balance added up to
2,338.3 million leva.

In January-November 2014, Bulgaria's export to third countries
decreased by 7.1 per cent compared to the like period of 2013
and stood at 14.9 billion leva. In November, the export dropped
by 7.3 per cent year-on-year to 1.4 billion leva.

In the first eleven months of 2014, the import from third
countries amounted to 18.1 billion leva (at CIF prices), down by
4 per cent from the like period of 2013. Bulgaria's main trade
partners were Russia, Turkey, China and Ukraine. In November,
the import from third countries was worth 1.6 billion leva,
which is a decrease by 15.1 per cent compared to the same month
of 2013.

In January-November 2014, the foreign trade balance (export FOB
- import CIF) with
third countries was negative and amounted to 3,161.9 million
leva. At FOB-FOB prices (after elimination of transport and
insurance costs on imports) the negative balance added up to
2,307.7 million leva.

In November 2014, the foreign trade balance (export FOB - import
CIF) with third countries was negative and amounted to 169.8
million leva.
