Conferring with Bulgarian Ambassador in Skopje Zhelyazko Radukov, Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) Chairperson Ali Ahmeti said that the Bulgarian community in the Republic of North Macedonia is a reality and should be included in the country's constitution. Nobody loses from this, but on the contrary, everyone wins, Ahmeti said as quoted by his party's press service. DUI is the largest ethnic Albanian party in North Macedonia.

The negotiating framework approved by the European Union is clear and the changes in the constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia must be adopted quickly so that the country can continue its path towards Brussels, because the priority of DUI is North Macedonia’s European integration, and the citizens expect the country to become part of the European Union. The Ohrid Framework Agreement (the one regulating the internal inter-ethnic relations in the country), the Prespa Agreement (the one which resolved the long-standing dispute between Skopje and Athens over the name of the country), and the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighbourliness and Cooperation between North Macedonia and Bulgaria are important for DUI and the party is committed to their implementation, the party's press release further says.
