GDP Rises by 3.1% in Fourth Quarter of 2015, Y/Y

Sofia, February 12 (BTA) - Flash estimates show that Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 3.1 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2015 compared with the fourth quarter of 2014 and by 0.8 per cent compared with the third quarter of 2015, the National Statistical Institute reported on Friday, publishing seasonally adjusted data.

GDP in the fourth quarter of 2015 amounted to 23.977 billion leva, and gross value added (GVA) totalled 20.728 billion leva.

Final consumption totalled 18.835 billion leva in nominal terms, accounting for 78.6 per cent of quarterly GDP. Gross fixed capital formation was 6.335 billion leva, making up 26.4 per cent of GDP.

GVA increased by 1.3 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2015 compared with the fourth quarter of 2014 and by 0.5 per cent compared with the third quarter of 2015.

In the fourth quarter of 2015 compared with the fourth quarter of 2014, final consumption rose by 2.5 per cent, and gross fixed capital formation rose by 1.4 per cent. Exports went up by 0.7 per cent, and imports by 1.7 per cent.
