Finance Ministry Asks Permission from Alixpartners to Disclose Corpbank Assets Report

Sofia, February 15 (BTA) - Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov has asked permission from Alixpartners Services UK LLP to make public a report on the assets of the failed Corporate Commercial Bank, his Ministry said on Monday.

The international company was hired in June 2015 to trace Corpbank's assets and recommend measures for their recovery.

Public interest in disclosing the report's findings has outweighed concerns that this may harm the recovery of the bankruptcy estate, Goranov said.

Corpbank, which was Bulgaria's fourth biggest lender at the time, suspended all operations on June 20, 2014, after a panic run by depositors left it illiquid. The central bank withdrew its banking licence on November 5, 2014, and the bank was later declared bankrupt.
