Slovenia's National Assembly Speaker Brglez Pays Official Visit to Bulgaria

Sofia, June 9 (BTA) - Slovenia's National Assembly Speaker Milan Brglez started Thursday a three-day official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of Parliament Chairperson Tsetska Tsacheva.

The guest conferred with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on Thursday morning, the government's information service said. The two officials concurred that the countries in the region bear a shared responsibility in safeguarding the stability and security on the Balkans, coping with challenges such as the migration crisis, protecting the EU external birders and cooperating in the fight against terror.

Borissov and Brglez praised the relations between the two countries and committed themselves to continue to develop them, both at the highest political level and the economy. Borissov said that there are no outstanding issues between the two countries which is a wonderful basis for fostering new business partnerships. The ICT sector was singled out as one of the most promising areas of cooperation.

Work is underway to restore the intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation and to intensify the activity of the Bulgarian-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
