Bulgarian Economy Minister Opens Business Forum in Vietnam

Hanoi/Sofia, October 19 (BTA) - The press office of the Bulgarian Economy Ministry said Wednesday that Economy Minister Bozhidar Loukarski has opened a Bulgarian-Vietnamese business forum in Ho Chi Minh City.

"The Bulgarian side values highly the presence of Vietnamese firms in Bulgaria. We have the potential to attract investments in a number of sectors where we traditionally have an edge and enhanced competitiveness. These are sectors like machine-building, automobile assembly, electronics and electrical engineering, information and communication technology, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, food production and the creation of industrial zones and high-tech parks," Loukarski said.

The Bulgarian Minister said at the forum that bilateral trade still falls short of the two countries' potential. In his view, the Bulgarian businesses have the potential to present premium and competitive goods and services on the Vietnamese market, including pharmaceutical, chemical, machine-building, electrical engineering, information technology, agriculture and farming products. The Bulgarian Economy Ministry will support any initiative for the exchange of business visits and delegations and for organising business forums.
