Tourism Ministry Expects Busy Summer Season with Growth in Number of Holiday Makers

Bourgas, on the Black Sea, February 27 (BTA) - Caretaker Tourism Minister Stella Baltova said that all conditions are present for a successful summer season. On Monday Baltova opened the first meeting in 2017 of the National Tourism Council taking place in Bourgas.

Bulgaria is becoming a much sought after tourist destination, proof of which is the growth in early bookings. German tour operators report an increase of between 2 and 45 per cent, the increase of Russian tourists is estimated at 10 per cent, The Netherlands, 57 per cent, France, 40 per cent, the Czech Republic, 31 per cent, Slovakia, 21 per cent, and Sweden, 15 per cent. All this gives a hope for an ever more successful summer season which could surpass the record-high results from the past summer, Baltova said.

Baltova said that the effective agreements for beach concessions at the moment are 49, and the agreements of leasing of beaches, 63.
