Bulgarian Programmers
in World's Top 4 for Variety of
Knowledge, Interests

Sofia, February 14 (BTA) - Bulgaria is among the top four countries in the world where programmers demonstrate the widest diversity of knowledge and interests in various technologies, according to the latest ranking of the DataArt software development company. The ranking is based on statistics of the Skillotron platform, where over 15,000 software specialists from 74 countries around the globe have tested their skills and knowledge.

Bulgaria ranks fourth after Ukraine, Poland and Russia, advancing from its fifth place in the previous edition of the DataArt ranking.

The most popular programming language among Bulgarian programmers is JavaScript (17.91 per cent solved JavaScript-related tests on Skillotron), followed by NET (17.47 per cent) and Java (9.43 per cent). Technologies such as PHP, C++ and Python are also used but the interest in and knowledge of them are lower, the data cited by DataArt shows.

The Skillotron platform allows IT specialists to test their knowledge, ask questions and compare their results to those of other participants. The platform's database contains over 2,600 questions elaborated by software specialists and further expanded daily by the participants themselves.
