World Taekwon-do Championships
Again
Sofia, January 24 (BTA) - Bulgaria will host the World
Taekwon-do Championships of the International Taekwon-do
Federation (ITF) for the second time. The decision was made at
an extraordinary meeting of the ITF Board held Friday evening.
The hosting of the event by Pyongyang, the capital of the
Democratic People's Republic of Korea, was relocated due to an
extraordinary situation.
The southern city of Plovdiv will host this year's 19th World
Teakwon-do Championships at the end of August. The precise dates
will be specified within days.
Bulgaria also hosted the previous world championships, held at
Sofia's Arena Armeec in July 2013.
In the North Korean version of taekwon-do world championships
are held once every two years, while the European version is an
annual event.
This yearТs EITF European Championships will be held in the city
of Andria in Italy from April 27 to May 4. /LI/BR
