site.btaPrime Minister Discusses Rakochevitsa Dam Construction during Visit to Blagoevgrad Region

During a visit on Monday to the southwestern village of Damyanitsa Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, Simitli Mayor Apostol Apostolov and MP Stefan Apostolov held a working meeting on the construction of Rakochevitsa dam, the Simitli Municipality said.

During the meeting, Simitli Mayor Apostolov briefed the prime minister on the need to build the dam in view of climate change and the growing need for action in relation to emerging water supply problems.

Prime Minister Zhelyazkov expressed the government's readiness to assist with the implementation of the large-scale project, accepting the idea of building the dam and expressing support for the work towards the design and construction of the facility, the Simitli Municipality added.
