Foreign Minister: Creation of Refugee Distribution Centre in Bulgaria Is Unlikely

Veliko Turnovo, North Central Bulgaria, September 15 (BTA) - It is unlikely that a refugee distribution centre will be set up in Bulgaria, Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov told journalists here Tuesday.

He specified that Bulgaria insists on the establishment of such refugee or migrant centres outside of the EU, which is the position of the majority of the Member States.

Mitov commented that the number of voting sections abroad to be set up for the national referendum on October 25, will depend on the applications lodged. Thus far the greatest interest has been stated in the US, Canada, the UK, Spain and France.

Mitov was in Veliko Turnovo to attend the opening of the new school year at the Vela Blagoeva High School.
