Interior Minister Buchvarova: Interior Ministry Employees' WagesWill not Be Reduced

Sofia, March 1 (BTA) - The wages of Interior Ministry employees will not be reduced, said here on Tuesday Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Roumyana Buchvarova. She said that there is a complete discrepancy between the truth and the statements made on Monday by the Interior Ministry trade unions. The wages of police officers who are currently employed will not be reduced and the restrictions which are now being introduced will be effective in 20 years, she explained.

The Trade Union Federation of the Employees in the Ministry of Interior said Monday that they will organize an indefinite protest to press demands for the start of genuine and efficient reforms at the Ministry, the Association's Governing Board Chairman Valentin Popov told a BTA-hosted news conference.

Minister Buchvarova further noted that her Ministry has a detailed plan about the distribution of its forces, dependent on the refugee situation development.

She commented the information about satellite images showing contraband fuel for Bulgaria from the Islamic State, explaining that so far it has not been confirmed, but is being checked.

Buchvarova, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov took part in the Interior Ministry Academy's National Council, along with the State Agency for National Security's and Interior Ministry's senior staff.
