Union of Democratic Forces Continues to Support Grozdan Karadjiov for Presidential Runner of Reformist Bloc

Sofia, September 7 (BTA) - The National Executive Council of the Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) Wednesday reaffirmed UDF's support for Grozdan Karadjov to be nominated as the presidential candidate of the Reformist Bloc (RB), where UDF is a member, UDF sources said after a meeting of the National Executive Council.

On September 1 the RB leadership proposed to the coalition's Executive Council to nominate former economy and energy minister Traicho Traikov as its candidate in the November 6 presidential elections.

On Wednesdat the UDF also proposes that both Karadjov and Traikov take part in a hearing of RB's Executive Council on September 13, as at the moment Karadjov is not in Sofia.

A meeting of RB's Executive Council is to take place on Thursday where the parties members of the Bloc are supposed to decide whether to support Traikov's candidacy.

Both Traikov and Karadjov were nominated by RB's public board.
