October Business Climate Improves Only in Services M/M - Statistics
Sofia, October 28 (BTA) - In October 2016 the total business climate indicator decreased by 1.3 percentage points from the previous month, the National Statistical Institute said Friday. A more unfavourable business climate was registered in industry and the retail trade, while construction continued at roughly its September level. The business climate improved only in the services sector.
The composite indicator "business climate in industry" lost 4.4 percentage points from the previous month due to the more reserved industrial entrepreneur assessments and expectations about the business situation. The inquiry also reports more unfavourable forecasts about exports and production activity over the next three months.
The composite indicator "business climate in retail trade" slid 2.1 percentage points from September as a result of a shift in retailer assessments and expectations about the business situation of enterprises from "better" towards "the same". Their forecasts for the volume of sales and orders placed with suppliers over the next three months are also more moderate.
The composite indicator "business climate in the service sector" gained 4.4 percentage points due to improved manager assessments and expectations about the business situation. However, their opinions about the present demand for services have worsened, while their expectations for the next three months have improved.
