Forum Marks European Day of the Entrepreneur
Sofia, November 4 (BTA) - A European Day of the Entrepreneur 2016 - "Good Practices and Prospects" was held within the framework of the European SME Week on Friday, the Economy Ministry said.
"Bulgaria is a good place to do business, we have created a favorable environment for entrepreneurship," Deputy Economy Minister Daniela Vezieva told the forum.
Vezieva said promoting entrepreneurship and SMEs is a key element of her ministry's policy agenda. She quoted Global Entrepreneurship Monitor data for 2015/2016 showing that 57.5 per cent of Bulgarian adults view entrepreneurship as a good career choice with 71.5 per cent agreeing that successful entrepreneurs enjoy a high status. The same data shows that 15.8 per cent of Bulgarian adults see good opportunities for starting a business in their respective region of residence while 35 per cent are ready to start a business.
The data also showed that the 35-44 age group is most active when it comes to entrepreneurship with the 18-24 age group not far behind. "Promoting entrepreneurship among the young people is a priority and could turn out to be very effective," Vezieva said.
