BSP Leader Ninova: GERB, United Patriots Make Hard Concessions, Ugly Bargaining in Name of Power

Sofia, April 22 (BTA) - Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Kornelia Ninova said on Saturday that GERB and the United Patriots (the two parties that are about to form a government following the March 26 early parliamentary elections) "won the vote in the name of the people but will betray it in the name of power". Ninova was commenting the negotiations between the two formations at a meeting of BSP's National Council dedicated to the current political situation in Bulgaria and the start of work of the new Parliament.

Ninova said that "the two negotiating formations made hard concessions, serious retractions, and conducted ugly bargaining in the name of power". The BSP leader listed the pledges in the two formations' election platforms that were compromised, saying that these compromises will lead to outflow of trust. "Contrary to them, the BSP will not retract on its election promises," Ninova said.

The BSP leader dwelled on the proposals the party submitted in the first days of its work, regarding recalculation of pensions, freezing the pay of MPs, and labour issues.
