Socialists to Petition Constitutional Court to Repeal Texts from Public Finances Act

Sofia, June 13 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) will petition the Constitutional Court this week to repeal texts from the Public Finances Act, which allow State financing for municipalities to be extended by the Council of Ministers and not through the National Budget Act, said BSP leader Kornelia Ninova at a Tuesday news conference here after a meeting with socialist mayors, BSP's Parliamentary Group and Executive Bureau.

GERB's budgeting is purposefully done wrong - they are lowering the National Budget's revenue projections, in order to ensure a surplus, which is later distributed by the Council of Ministers' order, instead of being discussed in Parliament first, Ninova explained. According to her, Cabinet distributes these funds subjectively, mainly towards GERB mayors.
