In June, month-on-months, the downward trend of the general producer price index - an early measure of inflation, which started at the beginning of the year with a break in May, when the index marked an increase, continued, according to the National Statistical Institute (NSI). On a year-on-year basis, the trend was also negative in June, but with smaller values, after the biggest decrease was recorded in early 2024, when the overall producer price index was 14.2% per cent down compared with the same month of 2023.

The Total Producer Price Index in Industry fell by 0.4% in June 2024 compared to the previous month. A Drop of 2.2% was registered in the mining and quarrying industry, in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 0.6%, and in the manufacturing industry - by 0.2%.

The Total Producer Price Index went down by 0.3% in June 2024 compared to the same month in 2023. There was a considerable decline of the prices in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 10.7%. An increase was observed in the mining and quarrying industry - by 11.0%, and in the manufacturing industry - by 2.6%.
