Sofia, May 2 (BTA) - The Council of Ministers designated the Counter-Corruption and Unlawfully Acquired Assets Forfeiture Commission to take over the assets, liabilities, archive, database, rights and obligations of the Conflict of Interest Commission, the Centre for Preventing and Countering Corruption and Organized Crime, the respective unit at the National Audit Office, and a directorate at the State Agency for National Security, all of which operated under the old anti-corruption law, the government information service reported on Wednesday.

A government decree was adopted to regulate the transfer of assets and the employment of officers in connection with the new Counter-Corruption and Unlawfully Acquired Assets Forfeiture Act.

The Council of Ministers also approved 14 million leva in additional expenses to finance the operation of the new counter-corruption body. The money will be taken from the central executive budget and from the restructured budgets of the now-defunct counter-corruption services.
