Varna, on the Black Sea, June 25 (BTA) - Bulgaria produces about 120 million tonnes of wine annually, Stanimir Stoyanov, Chairman of the Union of Enologists in Bulgaria, said on Monday. Stoyanov spoke at a news conference before the Fifth Black Sea Forum of Wine Making which will take place in the Golden Sands seaside resort on June 26 through 29.

Stoyanov said that more than 60 per cent of the wine is exported. The main markets for the Bulgarian wines are Poland, the Czech Republic, Russia, Germany, the United States and Benelux, with China emerging as a prominent market as well.

The forum will showcase wines from more than 20 countries. An international beverages competition will be held as well with prizes in eleven categories. The beverages: wines, cognacs, and others, will be judged by a committee of experts from Bulgaria, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Romania, Serbia and other countries.
