site.btaDefence Minister: All of State's Recent Efforts Have Been Focused on Innovation and Modernization of Bulgaria's Military Capabilities

All the efforts of the Bulgarian state in recent years have been directed towards innovations and modernization of the country's military capabilities, Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov said on Monday at the official presentation of the Da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System at the Military Medical Academy (MMA).

Zapryanov said he was proud of Bulgarian armed forces' military capabilities, which are world class. 

Robotic surgery using the da Vinci Xi system is an advanced approach to medicine that combines high-tech innovation and precision in performing surgery. It is used in various fields of medicine, such as urology, general surgery, thoracic surgery, gynaecology and others, the defence ministry said. The technology has been applied to complex surgeries such as tumour removal, reconstructive procedures, heart, kidney, prostate, uterus surgeries and others. It is typically preferred for surgeries that require high precision and control over small structures.
