A delegation from the Japanese city of Murayama, led by Katsuhiko Yaguchi, the head of the education for life department in the Japanese municipality, visited the 2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, held in Sofia.
The Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics national team was preparing in Murayama four years before the Tokyo 2020 Olympics under a four-year agreement between the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (BRGF) and the city of Murayama, signed personally by BRGF President Iliana Raeva and the Mayor of Murayama ,Takao Shifu.
A monument to the first Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics group to win a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo was unveiled in Murayama in 2022.
Katsuhiko Yaguchi came to support the gymnasts in Bulgaria and presented gifts to Iliana Raeva.
