Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (BRGF) President Iliana Raeva and Vice President Nevyana Vladinova Tuesday received an official delegation from the Japanese city of Murayama at the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Sofia.

The guests were led by Murayama Mayor Takao Shifu. The delegation included female members of the Golden Girls fanclub and citizens of Murayama who were volunteers at the Bulgarian graces' camps prior to the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.

The guests held discussions with Raeva, Vladinova, and BRGF Secretary General Rosina Atanasova at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The purpose of the visit was for the Japanese side to express its appreciation to the Bulgarian rhythmic gymnasts for their choice of Murayama as their training spot before their participation in the games in Tokyo.

Raeva said that Japan and Murayama in particular will forever hold their place in the history of the first Olympic gold medal.

Both sides expressed their desire to further their cooperation, not only in Murayama but also in Bulgaria.
