Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will participate in the regular meeting of the European Council on March 20 and 21 in Brussels, the Government information service said.

The focus of the European leaders' discussion will be the next Multiannual Financial Framework. The heads of state and government will also discuss the topics of competitiveness, European defence, and migration. The leaders of the EU member states will also exchange views on Ukraine and the Middle East.

The European leaders will also have a working lunch with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

A few days ago, European Council President Antonio Costa said that he had invited UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to participate in the meeting of EU heads of state and government in Brussels this week. In the letter of invitation to the participants in the meeting, Costa noted that the possibilities for continuing support for Ukraine, the development of European defence, and the framework of the next EU budget after 2027 will be discussed.
