Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov sent a letter to Interior Minister Daniel Mitov and Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzhartov, head of the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection, calling for immediate inspections of all nightclubs, discos, cinemas, theatres, and concert halls across the country, the prosecuting magistracy said on Thursday.

The inspections will include thorough checks on compliance with fire and emergency safety regulations during the operation of these venues, as well as the maintenance of fire safety equipment, systems, and facilities by owners and users.

Sarafov expects to receive information regarding the results of the inspections, including the number of checked venues, identified violations, actions taken to address the legal infringements, and any sanctions imposed. If any criminal activity is found, steps will be taken to hold responsible individuals accountable, the press release further says.
