Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova spoke to the chairperson of the Marine Academy of the Principality of Monaco Laurent Anselmi at the Presidency building in Sofia, the presidential press office announced Thursday. Anselmi is in Bulgaria at the invitation of the Specialized Administration and Management Institute of La Francophonie.
The Vice President congratulated the guest on the occasion of International Francophonie Day, noting the role of Bulgaria as a full-fledged member of the organization for 32 years.
Laurent Anselmi acquainted Iliana Iotova with the activities of the Academy he leads, which provides multidisciplinary education in French in all aspects of maritime affairs. The possibilities for cooperation with Bulgaria in different research projects, the exchange of students interested in maritime affairs from an ecological, economic, geopolitical point of view, of teachers and specializations were discussed.
The vice president underlined the importance of the Black Sea for economic development and security not just of the region, but of Europe as a whole. As an MEP Iotova wrote the first European Parliament report on the management of the Black Sea.
