The XVI USPE European Police Judo Event in Sofia on Friday. Bulgarian Deputy Interior Minister Toni Todorov inaugurated the event. "I hope this event will spark greater interest in sports and an active lifestyle among young people," said Interior Ministry Sports Association President Chavdar Atanasov, addressing the ceremony.

European Police Sports Union (USPE) President Georgios Tzatzakis thanked the Interior Ministry and the city of Sofia for hosting the event and praised the organization by the Sports Association of the Interior Ministry. USPE Secretary General Andreas Röhner and Interior Ministry Secretary General Dimitar Kangaldzhiev also attended the opening.

Until 17 June, 200 athletes from ten countries: Bulgaria, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Greece, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Hungary, Iceland, Romania, Netherlands, Slovakia, Switzerland and Britain will compete in the Sofia Hall, with free admission for spectators.
