President Rumen Radev Thursday commented on the no-confidence motion against the Cabinet over corruption, calling it "the strongest tool for the opposition in a parliamentary republic." Radev was speaking to journalists following his participation in the 10th edition of the Delphi Economic Forum in Greece.

The President stressed that the opposition must consider carefully the reasoning behind their decision. "When there are no strong, solid motives and no unity within the opposition, this powerful tool gradually loses its effectiveness," he added.

Earlier on Thursday, the Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) parliamentary group submitted the second no-confidence motion against the Cabinet.

When asked if he considered the no-confidence vote justified and whether he would advise the opposition to rally round it, Radev said: "As I have already stated, I do not interfere in or comment on decisions made by the parties in the National Assembly."
