The GATE Institute (Big Data for a Smart Society) in Sofia is hosting Thursday the Fusion Future Conference, an event dedicated to the future of nuclear energy, education, and artificial intelligence. The conference is organized by sustainable energy solutions company Alpha Ring International in partnership with the Faculty of Physics at Sofia University and will bring together scientists, business leaders, and institutional representatives to discuss the key role of fusion in the global energy transformation, as well as the opportunities for development in this field for Bulgarian students, the faculty team said.
The forum will be attended by Deputy Minister of Education and Science Prof. Nikolay Vitanov, Prof. Gordana Lastovicka-Medin (European Organization for Nuclear Research - CERN), Alexander Gunn (University of California), Iskren Vankov (Alpha Ring International), John Pasley (York University, London), and others.
The focus of the conference will be on fusion and artificial intelligence (AI), as well as related education and business perspectives in Bulgaria and the EU.
The Fusion Future Conference will present Alpha-E, a cutting-edge platform for fusion energy education and research (based on lightweight fusion) developed in Silicon Valley in collaboration with Oxford University and MIT.
Alpha-Ring provides students the opportunity to work with the platform by analyzing fusion reactions, developing physics models, and applying AI algorithms for optimization and prediction, the organizers note.
"Building a robust fusion education ecosystem is critical to the future of sustainable energy. With this conference, we want to give students and educators the tools, knowledge and motivation to be part of this new technological revolution," said Hristiyana Ivanova of Alpha Ring International. "With this conference we want to give students and educators the tools, knowledge and motivation to be part of this new technological revolution," she added.
