Hungarian tennis player Fabian Marozsan reached the quarterfinals of the Sofia Open 2023, an ATP 250 tournament with a prize money of EUR 562,815.
In the second round of the event, Marozsan eliminated the champion of the first edition of Sofia Open in 2016, Roberto Bautista Agut (Spain), with 6:3, 3:6, 7:6 (4).
In Thursday's quarterfinal, Marozsan will play against world No. 28 Jan-Lennard Struff (Germany), who is No. 3 seed in the tournament. Struff eliminated qualifier Billy Harris (Great Britain) by 7:6 (5), 6:4.
Marozsan made a breakthrough into men's tennis elite in June when he entered the top 100 for the first time in his career after a victory over former world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) at the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome.
This is Marozsan’s first appearance at Sofia Open.
