State-owned natural gas supplier Bulgargaz proposes setting the December 2024 price of natural gas in Bulgaria at BGN 73.92 per MWh, the company says in a letter to the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC). This implies an increase by 7.61% compared with the November 2024 level.

The proposal is about the price at which Bulgargaz will be selling to end-suppliers of natural gas and to heating utilities. It does not include access, transmission, excise duty and VAT costs.

Bulgargaz says that in December it will use natural gas coming from Azerbaijan under a long-term contract, liquefied natural has bought at auctions, and amounts from the underground gas storage facility at Chiren, Northwestern Bulgaria.

The company’s proposal will be discussed at an open-door meeting at the EWRC head office in Sofia towards the end of November.
