Sonika Kapil, Chief Architect for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Applications at Microsoft, will visit Sofia at the invitation of the Webit Foundation to participate on October 23 in the seventeenth edition of the Webit 2024 Forum, the event organizers announced.

Sonika Kapil is a significant figure in the artificial intelligence industry and her experience at Microsoft is related to innovations that are changing the digital world. Her work, particularly in the context of Microsoft's strategic partnership with OpenAI, has been key to the deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions that set new standards and capabilities in technology, the release said. 

"Sonika Kapil's presence at Webit 2024 underscores the importance of the event for Bulgaria and the world, giving the Bulgarian audience a chance to learn about the latest global trends and innovations in AI, ChatGPT, generative AI and how they are changing the world we live in," the Webit Foundation said, adding that Webit 2024 is a platform that not only attracts world leaders, but also puts Bulgaria in the global spotlight as an important player in advancing technology and investment.

So far, three Webit events have been held in Sofia. From 2012 to 2016, Turkiye became a partner country of the initiative, after which India, Singapore, the UAE, Miami, and Davos joined, according to official information of the organizers.
