Bulgaria's GDP Grows in Second Quarter of 2024 Both Y/Y and Q/Q

In the second quarter of 2024, Bulgaria's GDP grew by 2.1% compared to the second quarter of the previous year and by 0.5% from the previous quarter, according to seasonally adjusted data put out by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) on Thursday.

According to flash estimates based on seasonally adjusted data, final consumption showed a growth of 0.9%, quarter-on-quarter. Exports of goods and services increased by 1.4% and imports of goods and services increased by 2%.

Gross value added (GVA) in the second quarter of 2024 totalled approximately 41.429 billion, increasing by 0.3%, compared to the previous quarter. GVA grew by 2.2 per cent, year-on-year.

The foreign trade balance was positive.
