A total of BGN 28 million are invested under Bulgaria’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan in the construction of a National STEM Centre on the territory of Sofia Tech Park. The preliminary contract for the construction right on the multifunctional building was signed by Tech Park Executive Director Todor Mladenov and National STEM Centre Director Naiden Shivarov. The deadline for the implementation of the investment in STEM-focused innovation is May 31, 2026.

The newly built National STEM Centre will include modern and state-of-the-art laboratories in five main fields: green technologies and sustainable development; robotics and cyber-physical systems; design and 3d prototyping; mathematics and informatics; and natural sciences. There are also plans to create a Digital Art and Audio-Visual Art room, rooms for training, seminars and meetings, and Maker Space. The Bulgarian Olympic teams will also train there, and it is expected the improved conditions and modern equipment will create a prerequisite for more of their successes at world and regional competitions.
