Calls for project proposals under two sub-measures of the 2014-2020 Rural Development Programme will be launched in June, caretaker Bulgarian Agriculture and Food Minister Georgi Tahov said in Stara Zagora (South Bulgaria) on Monday. The sub-measures - investments in agricultural holdings and investments in processing/marketing and/or development of agricultural products – have a total budget of BGN 160 million, Tahov’s Ministry said in a press release.
The Minister noted that 3,400 contracts for costs totalling more than BGN 3.25 billion have been concluded under the investments in agricultural holdings sub-measure for the entire 2014-2020 programming period.
As to the direct payments campaign, which was launched on April 26, Tahov said that his Ministry is doing its best to have it completed by the end of June, a month earlier than in 2024. More than 9,000 applications have been submitted to the Integrated Administration and Control System so far, 7,000 of them for areas exceeding 1 million hectares.
In Stara Zagora, Tahov opened the 16th BATA AGRO Agricultural Exhibition.
