site.btaBGN 1.3 Mln from America for Bulgaria Foundation for Tourist Projects in Northwest
The America for Bulgaria Foundation has approved 17 projects for a total funding of BGN 1,312,000 under the Development of Tourism in Northwest Bulgaria and along the Danube River request for proposal (RFP). The long-term goal of the RFP is to permanently place the Bulgarian Northwest and the communities along the Danube on the tourist map of Bulgaria as destinations offering sustainable nature and cultural heritage tourism and contribute to the development of local economies.
People and entities applied for funding in one of three categories, depending on the scale of their proposal.
The first category was for proposals to be funded for up to BGN 25,000. Such proposals were submitted by individual applicants aiming to create new experiences or upgrade existing products and services.
The second category was for proposals to be funded for up to BGN 50,000. It was aimed at organizations promoting certain villages and towns through festivals and other events.
The third category, for proposals for up to BGN 150,000, was aimed at NGOs, businesses, natural parks, cultural organizations, sports clubs, tourist boards and municipalities willing to establish tourist destinations.
