A total of 4,438 flights to 73 destinations in 31 countries were served at Sofia Airport in February, the capital airport said on its Facebook page. There were a total of  24 airlines served.

In the shortest month of the year, among the top five favorite destinations, Bulgarians favoured London and Vienna. Istanbul replaced Milan in third place. The Italian city is next in line, followed by Frankfurt, the airport said.

A few days ago, a new automated system for checking boarding passes was launched at Sofia Airport, which will speed up passenger checks. Airport operator SOF Connect head Jesús Caballero Pinto said that Terminal 1 will be ranovated until its closure in 2030.
