Tourism Minister Zaritsa Dinkova and representatives of the hotel industry discussed the current problems facing the sector in Bulgaria, the press centre of the ministry said on Friday. Minister Dinkova assured the industry representatives that solutions will be sought to the priority issues raised, but for this process to be effective, joint work and effective communication between the state and business is needed.

The control of short-term rental apartments and guest rooms was discussed, as well as the changes that are expected to occur with the introduction of the requirements of the new regulations at European level. This type of accommodation is preferred by a large number of tourists, but the lack of accurate data on the sector makes it difficult for the institutions to define the policies needed to regulate it.

After the meeting with the business community, Minister Dinkova presented the honorary awards at the Top 100 Best Hotels in Bulgaria ceremony. The winners were divided into ten categories.

Top 100 Best Hotels in Bulgaria is an initiative of the Hotel Forum in Bulgaria and the ranking of the hotels is based on over half a million ratings and comments that guests have made on various booking platforms.
