Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel, Finance Minister Assen Vassilev, and Agriculture and Food Minister Kiril Vatev will confer with farmers' organizations that have expressed readiness to protest on Monday, January 22, Vatev told reporters on the occasion.

"You can see that there is tension all over Europe, not only in Bulgaria. Here, it is relatively calm at the moment. In Romania, Greece, and Germany there are strikes already. The tension is huge in France, Austria and Italy, as well. This comes from the intention to liberalize trade in absolutely all goods from Ukraine. It is well known what the European requirements are, how this makes production more expensive for everyone, makes the cost higher and production less competitive. There is serious dissatisfaction across Europe with the policy pursued in recent years, the so-called Green Deal," the minister said.
