site.btaStatistics: Newly Registered, Bankrupt Companies in Q4 of 2023

In the fourth quarter of last year, the trend of year-on-year decrease of both newly registered and bankrupt companies was maintained, according to a reference in the National Statistical Institute (NSI). On a monthly basis, the trend is reversed.

In Q4 of 2023, there were 10,633 newly registered and 977 bankrupt legal entities in the country, the NSI said on Wednesday. Compared with the same quarter of 2022, the total number of newly registered entities decreased by 2.4% and the number of bankrupt entities by 14.9%.

Compared with the third quarter of 2023, newly registered legal entities in the fourth quarter of 2023 increased by 8.2% and those that declared bankruptcy by 17.8%. 

Of all newly registered legal entities in the fourth quarter of 2023, the largest number were in Trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, at 88.4%. For those declared bankrupt, the largest number again was in the same sector, at 76.7%.
