Macroeconomic and market developments are the top risks for businesses in Bulgaria in 2024, according to the 13th annual Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) Key Business Risks Survey, Allianz Risk Barometer, released on Tuesday. The fear of events triggered by the political situation in the country ranked fifth as a new risk. Market changes and the shortage of skilled labour are also on the rise in the ranking of business risks for Bulgaria.

The survey incorporates the views of 3,069 experts from 92 countries. It shows that cyber incidents, such as ransomware attacks, data breaches, and IT disruptions, are the biggest concern for companies at the global level in 2024.

The associated risk of business interruption takes the second position. Natural catastrophes, fires, explosions, political risks and violence are the biggest climbers in the ranking, the data show.
