The EU Club at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is meting in Sofia on Monday afternoon as Belgium took over the rotating Presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2024, the BCCI said.

The discussion will focus on the achievements of the Spanish Presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2023, Belgium's priorities and Bulgaria's prospects for full membership of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Belgium's Ambassador Frederic Meurice and the Spanish Embassy's Deputy Head of Mission, Jaione Cereijo, are expected to participate.

The EU Club at the BCCI is an initiative of the Enterprise Europe Network, set up in 2000, with the financial support of the European Commission. The ambassadors of the EU Member States and candidate countries became honorary founders and members of the EU Club.
