According to data from Bulgaria's integrated tourist information system, over 250,000 Polish tourists visited Bulgaria in 2022 (between January 1 and September 10). In a shorter period, from January to the end of August 2023, Polish tourists in the country increased by 19.4%, Tourism Minister Zaritza Dinkova said in an interview for the Polish media Wasza Turystyka. The article is entitled "Bulgaria, the country of spa and wellness, wins the hearts of Polish tourists".

Dinkova noted that 90% of Polish tourists visiting Bulgaria do so for summer holidays, choosing mainly Nessebar and Sunny Beach (over 100,000 tourists) and the Varna Region (63,000). The Ministry is making great efforts to draw the attention of Polish visitors to spa and wellness services in the country. "This segment is developing very fast, the product we offer is of the highest quality, and Bulgarian spa holidays are appreciated not only by domestic but also by foreign tourists. We combine it with health tourism, which is equally important for the promotion of Bulgaria. This is supported by Bulgaria's excellent natural conditions with a high sun exposure and the Bulgarian cuisine, which is a mix of Mediterranean and Central European influences," the tourism minister added.

Dinkova also pointed out that Bulgaria is a year-round destination. Thanks to the variety of services, cultural richness and favourable climate, especially in the southern part of the country, it is an ideal destination for active tourism.

The Polish market is one of the priority markets for Bulgaria. Therefore, active advertising in Poland and the Ministry's focus mainly on promotion using digital tools is of utmost importance for the Bulgarian tourism industry. "Our goal is to maintain and improve this quality while maintaining an attractive price. We have a very wide range of services for both less affluent and high budget clients. In fact, everyone will find something for themselves here," Dinkova added.
