Cuban Ambassador to Bulgaria Marieta Garcia Jordan said that there is mutual interest on the part of business for cooperation in the fields of agriculture, the food and dairy industry, renewable energy, tourism, health, pharmaceuticals, etc. She said this during an online meeting with with the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Tsvetan Simeonov, which was also attended by Antonio Luis Carricarte Corona, President of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the discussion was to outline a joint action plan for 2024, BCCI said on its website Thursday.

The discussion was initiated the Cuban Ambassador, with whom Simeonov met in November of last year.

The presidents of the two business organisations agreed that they should support contacts between companies from Bulgaria and Cuba, as the long distance between the two countries and the insufficient amount of information about economic opportunities stop most initiatives at their very beginning.

In addition to exchanging business visits, the participants in the meeting also agreed on the exchange of up-to-date economic and business information that will allow companies to make correct and timely decisions on entering the respective market.
