At a sitting here on Thursday, the Council of Ministers approved a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government and Glass Contribution EAD for the implementation of a priority investment project worth BGN 110 million. The project will see the modernization of the manufacturing process at the Rubin glass factory in Pleven (North Central Bulgaria) and the creation of at least 150 jobs in the three-year implementation period.

The project envisages an expansion of the existing production in the factory and aims to restore and modernize Rubin through the construction of a 300-tonne furnace for glass production, indoor and outdoor storage areas. The investment is mainly focused at the development and incorporation of innovative products, processes and business models directed at higher resource efficiency at the enterprise. The incorporation of SORG equipment of the latest generation aims to achieve high production quality and reduction of the harmful CO2 emissions to a minimum.
