In November 2023, the average monthly retirement-age and contributory-service pension per retiree reached BGN 909.13, an increase of BGN 106.79 from November 2022, the National Social Security Institute (NSSI) reported here on Friday.

The average monthly pension was BGN 826.69, an increase of BGN 1.71 from the previous month and an increase of BGN 95.44 (13.1%), year-on-year.

Expenditures on pensions, equaling approximately BGN 17.433 billion, represent the largest share of the total expenditures under the consolidated budget of the Public Social Insurance (PSI), which amount to BGN 19.648 billion. The increase of expenditures on pensions is 3.381 billion, compared to November 2022.
