site.btaBulgaria, China to Finance Joint Projects on Mobility and Research

During the 17th session of the Bulgaria-China commission for scientific and technological cooperation in Beijing, the two countries agreed to increase the joint projects for mobility and research, and step up the contacts between research funds, academies and other scientific organizations, said the Bulgarian Education Ministry. 

Bulgaria was represented by a delegation headed by Deputy Education Minister Genka Petrova - Tashkova. 

In early 2024, the two sides plan to announce a call for bilateral projects on mobility and pick 15 two-year projects for funding. Bulgaria will provide up to BGN 50,000 per project.

In the second half of 2024, a competition will be announced for bilateral research projects. Funding will be provided to three of the projects that apply. Bulgaria will offer BGN 300,000 per project.

The contracts are expected to be signed in late 2024 or early 2025.

During the visit to China, the Bulgarian delegation visited China's National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
