The Agriculture and Food Ministry is working actively with the State Fund Agriculture (SFA) towards the goal of allocating some BGN 700 million to farmers in December 2023. This transpired at a meeting held between Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and farmer representatives on Friday, the Government Information Service said. The discussions were also attended by Agriculture Minister Kiril Vatev, SFA Executive Director Georgi Tahov, Bulgarian Food Safety Agency Executive Director Svetlozar Patarinski and National Customs Agency Director General Pavel Tonev.

During the meeting, grain producers presented a package of measures and proposals that they believe will help the sector’s way of operating. Denkov welcomed the constructive approach and said that the government was ready to begin expert discussions on each of the proposals to develop the most effective long-term solutions.

On November 1, the Agriculture and Food Ministry said that 11 new contracts for the implementation of innovative projects worth BGN 5.8 million had been signed under the 2014-2020 Rural Development Programme.
